I would like to welcome you to the Group of Lodges in Portugal, the home of English Constitution Freemasonry in Portugal.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest social and charitable organisations and the Group has existed in modern Portugal since 1989. Contrary to popular myth, we are an open organisation, which welcomes enquiries, questions and visitors. Our ceremonies promote integrity, tolerance, kindness, honesty and fairness, although we never preach to anyone.

From its earliest days, Freemasonry has respected the beliefs of its members. It promotes an environment where diversity is valued. It is a space where different beliefs and backgrounds converge, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity, tolerance and harmony.
Service
Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.
Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join. For some, it’s about making new friends and acquaintances. For others, it’s about being able to help deserving causes – making a contribution to family and for society. A place to make friends and a difference to society.
We’re a non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisation. Our members grow in self-confidence and become the best possible versions of themselves.
Whether you are joining or re-joining Freemasonry, simply provide a few personal details for our membership team to contact you.
Our membership is open to people from all backgrounds — with any man over the age of 18 welcome to join, irrespective of their race or religion.
You are expected to be able to affirm a belief in a Supreme Being. This is deliberately phrased so as to be fully inclusive and celebrate the diverse nature of the beliefs of our members. There is no requirement to be an active practitioner of any particular religion.
