On the 19th of January, the day started with a Britannia Masters Lodge nº 9575 (BML) session, which meets three times each year and as its name suggests, comprises Masters and Past Masters in its membership. BML meetings cover diverse issues of masonic interest, such as history, symbolism, rituals, etc.
The meeting was well attended with approximately 20 brethren present. After dealing with the usual agenda items, a paper was presented by the Worshipful Master.
The paper – “What is The Future of Freemasonry and AI?” led to enlightened discussion by those present, and if it were not for the time restriction, it would have carried on for a considerably more time.
Closing Vision
Freemasonry has survived revolutions, reformations, and the rise of the digital age because it is not an organization of the past — but a philosophy for all time.
Artificial Intelligence, properly understood, is another instrument by which light may be sought — but not the source of Light itself.
The true Temple remains within man, and no machine may lay its cornerstone.
Lancaster Lodge nº 9413 session
The brethren of Lancaster Lodge 9413 gathered in Estoril, Lisbon for a truly significant Installation Ceremony. It was marked by a profound sense of duty and tradition, but also by deep emotion as we came together to install our new Master and officers for the ensuing year. The day was also one of solemn reflection. During the ceremony, we paused to remember a dear brother who recently passed to the Grand Lodge above.
We were delighted to welcome over 35 attendees to the meeting, a testament to the strength and vibrancy of our masonic community. The occasion was further graced by the presence of visiting brethren from other lodges, both from within the country (Members from the 4 lodge of the group where present), members of the Grande Loja Legal de Portugal / GLLP, as well as several from abroad, all of whose support added greatly to the dignity of the proceedings.
The evening concluded with a magnificent Festive Board, which was, as always, a highlight of the gathering. It was a great event filled with warmth and camaraderie that further strengthened the bonds between brothers. The combination of solemn ritual and joyous fellowship made it a night that will be long remembered by all who were present.
